Learn to Play Modern American Canasta Series

Do you like to play games? Would you like to learn a new one? More popular than ever with adults of all ages, the game of Canasta is a fun, complex, and addictive game. We will cover all aspects of the game, using Modern American Canasta rules. Participants will learn the rules and strategies needed to play. Each session will include instruction and supervised play. Gather your friends and/or meet new people. The game of Canasta offers you great brain exercise, fun and a social experience.

Tuesdays 2-4pm 2/24, 3/3, 3/10, 3/17, 3/24

Agenda:

*If you know the basics but want more practice with a specific topic and guided play, it is possible to sign up for individual dates. Just send us an email. $45 per individual class.

February 24th: Class 1 (intro to canasta, learn the basics, play 1 round)

March 3rd: Class 2 (introduce sevens, aces and wildcards, discuss rules about threes, play at least 2 rounds)

March 10th: Class 3 (review sevens, aces and wild cards, discuss how to open and pick the pack at the same time, discuss basic strategies, play at least 2 rounds)

March 17th: Class 4 (review rules and basic strategies, play 2-3 rounds, introduce special hands and scoring, review smaller rules

March 24th: Class 5 (focus on reviewing special hands, scoring, and play as much as possible)
